This is an example of a lesson plan from the class session where I introduce sensory processing disorders. My lesson plans often incorporate lecture, use of technology, active learning, and discussion. This particular lesson plan was used in the OC TH 6140 course in Fall 2016, and a variation of it was also used for a guest lecture in the OC TH 3000 course in Spring 2017. Thirty four students were enrolled in OC TH 6140 in Fall 2016. Overall, students responded positively to the lesson, especially the active learning component that allowed them to rotate through the different sensory stations. I also received positive feedback regarding the Adult Sensory Preference Checklist that students completed at the beginning of the session, as students felt this helped the content to be more personally meaningful.
